How Production Works

Everything you ever wanted to know about artwork, file formats, visual proofs, and all that other fun stuff.

ARTWORK AND FILE FORMATS

To customize your chosen product(s), we need your logo and/or artwork! To get the best results, Studio Image always recommends working with a professional designer or artist. A pro will understand both the branding and technical requirements necessary to achieve the best outcomes

Electronic logo or artwork files should be saved at the highest resolution. If your artwork involves words or letters, you will also need to submit the font files (.ttf or .otf). Type should be outlined when possible.

ACCEPTABLE FILE FORMATS

Best: Vector Files

Vector files (.EPS or .AI) will give you the sharpest, best-quality imprint or embroidery in any size.

Variable Quality: Raster Files

Raster or bitmap images are made up of individual pixels. When resized, these images often look jagged or blurry. Studio Image can accept raster files in .JPG, .PNG, .TIFF formats, but keep in mind that your image may lose quality.

OUR EASY 4-STEP PRODUCTION PROCESS

A proof is simply a mockup image showing how your logo or artwork will appear on the product you ordered. This is your chance to make any changes and confirm all the details before your order moves into production. Most of the time, the Studio Image team will email your visual proof within 72 hours of receiving your order. Please note the approve-by date — this is necessary to make sure we can meet your in-hand date.

  • If you have any changes, contact us.
  • When you are satisfied with the proof, reply to the email with “APPROVED” in the body of your message.

Note: No artwork changes can be made after the proof is approved.

We use a variety of methods, depending on the material, design complexity and the desired finish. These include screen, pad and digital printing; as well as laser engraving, embroidery and molding or injection molding.

Some forms of production — such as screen printing or laser engraving — require us to create a special stencil or other tool/fixture for your artwork. (That’s why there may be a “setup fee” in your order). Once that’s done, the same setup can be used over and over again, even in future orders as long as the product and artwork are identical.

We really want you to be delighted with the results of your Studio Image order. That’s why we triple-check everything for quality before we’ll send it out to you.

After production is completed, we will ship your order within 1–2 business days and email the tracking information right to you.
